Cherry is best known for starring in Inside the Factory[/caption]Talking to the camera while sitting in her car, Cherry said: “I questioned whether or not to share this, but I often don’t, for rightly or wrongly.
“But I think sometimes it’s important to share things like this so that if it happens to someone else, they don’t think they’re alone.”
Admitting she didn’t want to be “seen as a fear monger”, Cherry explained: ” I just dropped my friend off at the tube station, I could see she’d gone out. She’d got to the side of the road. It was all fine.
“A guy approached my car door, and luckily I’d just central locked the car really quickly, and he started to try and get into the car.
“I was like, No go away!”
“I’m sharing this particularly because it’s in the middle of the day, broad daylight,” she adding, noting she did nothing to provoke the situation.
“Sometimes you hear people saying, you know, what was she wearing? You know, was she out in a bad she had a few drinks? Was she walking through the park late at night?
“If someone attacks you, it is not your fault. It’s nothing to do with you. I was in my car middle of the day.”
“In fact, can I ask you, do you feel like it’s getting worse at the moment?” she asked her followers. “If so, do you have any hypothesis as to why this is happening?
“I feel like there’s more shouting, more cackles, more attempts to kind of approach in an aggressive way. I would not go for a run after the sun went down for all of the money in the world right now.”
Asking if she was “fear mongering” by sharing her experience, fans were quick to share their support in her comments, at times even sharing their own similar interactions.
Kate Lawler wrote: “This is awful I’m so sorry lovely ”
A fan shared: “My 14 year old daughter was grabbed by an older boy in school recently. It’s the Andrew Tate issue. They think they can do what they like.”
Another agreed and added: “This happens all the time. Lock the door all day every day.”
“It’s not just London. Something similar happened to me at a motorway services in Nottinghamshire,” noted a third. “I was on my way to a work meeting, wearing trousers and a blazer (but that doesn’t matter) and was followed to my car.
“He told me to open my window so he could speak to me (I said no), asked if I was single, and stood in the way so I couldn’t leave the parking space until he realised my no really did mean no.
“This all happened on the other side of a hedge from a police station. Take care out there everyone.”
“I absolutely feel like it’s getting worse. It feels like there’s some really angry men out there who want to remind women that they are in charge,” said a fourth.
