Los Huracanes del Norte
The Mexican norteño group Los Huracanes Del Norte marked 50 years together as a band in 2022 after first coming together in 1972. The band was formed by brothers Heraclio, Jesús “Chuy,” Francisco, and José Guadalupe García, who emigrated to California, working as day laborers by day and musicians at night. The group’s Hollywood star recognized their impact on Mexican music. Cheap Trick
Glam metal rockers Cheap Trick were in the headlines a couple of weeks ago when frontman Robin Zander sang the national anthem at the Jan. 12 matchup between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Washington Commanders at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. Zander’s unique voice, paired with the group’s megahits like “I Want You to Want Me” and “The Flame,” landed the band in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. David Gray
British singer-songwriter David Gray is touring to support his 13th studio album, “Dear Life,” with Native American artist Sierra Spirit for his American performances. Guckkasten
Guckkasten, from Seoul, Korea, is a band that is difficult to pin down genre-wise. They have elements of psychedelic rock but also incorporate heavy chords that could easily put them under the metal genre. Their creative and experimental sound makes them hard to define, but that’s what makes Guckkasten that much more fun to listen to. Luis Angel “El Flaco”
Luis Angel Franco Rivera, aka “El Flaco,” is a Regional Mexican singer from Mazatlán, Sinaloa. The singer was previously part of Banda Los Recoditos but went solo in 2020 and has collaborated with Grupo Firme, Pancho Uresti and El Mimoso Luis Antonio López. Comedian and actor Bill Engvall is coming out of retirement for a handful of stand-up shows across the country.
