Jason Miller: Trump nominees 'the ultimate disruptors'
Trump insider Jason Miller on Friday described President Trump's Cabinet nominees as Washington disruptors and said he was not concerned about any of them not being confirmed.
“I’m not worried about any of the fantastic nominees that President Trump has put forward because these are the ultimate disruptors,” said Miller, a former spokesperson for Trump, during a Fox News appearance on Friday.
“These are the folks that are going to depoliticize government,” he added.
His comments come as former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (Hawaii), Trump’s pick for director of national intelligence and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., nominee for secretary of Health and Human Services, appeared to struggle this week in their confirmation hearings.
Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) suggested Gabbard’s confirmation might be a rocky after her inability to label Edward Snowden a “traitor” raised flags for some GOP members.
“I’m worried by what I hear from some of my Republican colleagues. I’m worried that her nomination may be in jeopardy,” Hawley said Thursday during a Fox News appearance on “Jesse Watters Primetime.”
“Her ‘sin’ is that she challenges the surveillance state,” Hawley later added.
It's unclear whether Gabbard or Kennedy will get any Democratic votes.
Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly (D) said some of his GOP colleagues have also raised concerns with Gabbard receiving a high security clearance.
“I think some of them are still really, really uncomfortable with her running 18 intelligence agencies,” Kelly said of his colleagues Thursday evening on MSNBC’s “The ReidOut.”
Miller said all of Trump’s nominees are committed to carrying out the agenda he campaigned on.
“I think this is a big part of the reason, quite frankly, why President Trump received 77 million votes this past fall, 312 electorals, of course, winning the popular vote, because Americans are sick and tired of the politicization, whether it be in law enforcement community or the intel community, or even within health care,” Miller said.
