Tottenham Hotspur ‘have considered a late move’ for a defender that Aston Villa have been trying to snap up and are waiting to hear back on.
Spurs now have little time in which to back Ange Postecoglou with new faces and suffered a very public snub earlier this week when Mathys Tel rejected them.
The north London side agreed a fee with Bayern Munich for the winger, but after reflecting on the move Tel rejected it.
In addition to attacking reinforcements, Spurs also want a centre-back and are trying to sign Fikayo Tomori from AC Milan.
Tomori though is happy at the Rossoneri and it is far from clear whether a deal will happen.
As such, Tottenham are looking at alternatives and, according to the Daily Telegraph, they ‘have considered a late move’ for Aston Villa target Axel Disasi.
Villa have an agreement on terms with Disasi, but Chelsea have so far held off sanctioning a deal.
Now Tottenham could try to push themselves into the race for the defender as they run the real risk of leaving Postecoglou’s squad short on depth for the remainder of the season.
