Beyonce Finally Wins Grammy for Album of the Year, Extends Record for Most Overall Wins Ever
Beyonce finally has won a Grammy Award for Album of the Year.
The 43-year-old entertainer picked up the award for her album Cowboy Carter at the 2025 Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 2) at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
Despite being the music artist with the most Grammy wins of all time, Beyonce had never won an Album of the Year award until now. She previously lost in the category for I Am Sasha Fierce, Beyonce, Lemonade, and Renaissance.
“I just feel very full and very honored. It’s been many, many years and I just want to thank the Grammys, every songwriter, every collaborator, every producer, for all of the hard work,” Beyonce said in her speech. “I want to dedicate this to Miss [Linda] Martell, and I’ll just hopefully keep pushing forward, opening doors.”
It was a big night for Beyonce as she also picked up her first-ever country awards at the Grammys with wins for Best Country Album and Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “II Most Wanted” with Miley Cyrus.
Host Trevor Noah joked at the end of the broadcast, “She had 99 nominations, and now an album of the year win is one.”
Beyonce was joined at the show by her husband Jay-Z and daughter Blue Ivy Carter, who went on stage with her to accept the award.
