King Charles shares emotional message one year on from his cancer diagnosis
The Royal Family have issued a poignant video to mark World Cancer Day, featuring speakers from various charities and celebrities.
Macmillan Cancer, Maggies Centres, Cancer Research UK, Tom Daly, Victoria Derbyshire, and more shared inspirational messages.
The Royal Family wrote on Instagram: ‘This World Cancer Day, we are sending love to all those navigating a cancer diagnosis – as well as the incredible doctors, nurses, charities and families who work tirelessly to support them.’
It comes as multiple members of the Royal Family faced cancer battles last year – including Princess Kate and King Charles.
It was almost a year ago on February 5, 2024, when Charles shared his shocking cancer diagnosis.
At the time, both the monarch and his doctors remain ‘hugely positive’ after beginning out-patient treatment.
In a statement, it said: ‘No further details are being shared at this stage, except to confirm that His Majesty does not have prostate cancer.’
Princess Kate also celebrated World Cancer Day with a photo taken by her youngest son, Prince Louis.
The images, which showed Kate stood on a tree trunk in a wintry woodland and a frost-covered fern, were shared alongside the message ‘don’t forget to nurture all that which lies beyond the disease’ and signed off with a C to show it was a message from the princess.
A second image taken by the princess herself was also issued.
A royal aide emphasised that spending time in nature has been extremely important to the Princess over the past year as she underwent her own cancer journey, which is reflected in both images.
