STOP DWI campaign underway across New York State
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A lot of people will be out on the roads for the Big Game this Sunday. As always, New York State Police and local law enforcement will be stepping up patrols to ensure everyone celebrates safely.
The campaign, which runs from Monday, February 3 through Sunday, February 9, is funded by the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee. The initiative targets underage drinking enforcement, along with increased patrols and sobriety checkpoints to deter, identify and arrest impaired drivers.
Drivers should expect to see additional sobriety checkpoints and DWI patrols in the days leading up to and the day of the Big Game. Officials want to remind everyone who will be out celebrating to make sure you have a plan to get home safely.
New York State has the Have a Plan mobile app for your phone, which offers resources for taxi and designated driver services.
