Bluebonnets make first appearance in Central Texas

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- A Texas wildflower is making an appearance a little sooner than expected.
Bluebonnets are being spotted in parts of the state. A viewer sent this photo of one blooming in Paige, which is in Bastrop County.
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department also shared photos of its "first prairie wildflowers" that are now blooming at Big Bend State Park.
The wildflowers usually make their appearance across Texas highways in mid-March. Experts said they pop depending on the location, temperature and moisture and can bloom any time from January to June.
If you have any pictures of bluebonnets springing up in Central Texas, be sure to send them to KXAN's newsroom, or you can send them to ReportIt@kxan.com.
