Patriots Fans Must Chime In On Tom Brady Broadcast Reality

Tom Brady wraps up his first season as a broadcaster for FOX Sports alongside play-by-play Kevin Burkhardt with the call of Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans Sunday.

Brady’s progression from game analysis to showing personality has been a work in progress throughout the season. Patriots fans likely are best qualified to judge Brady’s performance in how well he’s done that in understanding the differences in his persona from his playing days in New England.

That’s a perspective The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand believes is beneficial in truly assessing the progression of Brady’s on-air profile in the booth.

“The question in the Boston area they’d probably have a better feel for is is there more personality there,” Marchand told NESN.com. “We see him on social media, but that feels very contrived. There’s likely his team behind him coming up with the jokes or at least consulting him on the funnier things he’s done. When you’re in the booth, you really don’t have that opportunity to consult or see what other people think. You really have to be spontaneous in the moment and have a good feel.”
