Coronation Street reveals who set fire to the Platt’s house after Max Turner’s life was left hanging in the balance
CORONATION Street finally exposes the arsonist behind the Platt house blaze – but can they cover their tracks?
One of Coronation Street’s most iconic homes was set ablaze and engulfed in flames in explosive scenes last week.
The inferno and explosion left Toyah Habeeb and Max Turner’s life hanging in the balance.
The arsonist was believed to be Harvey’s thugs who were out for David after he took money which belonged to him.
However David Platt, Abi Webster and Leanne Battersby became the prime suspects.
But Kevin Webster’s CCTV footage from the garage showed the arsonist searching for petrol.
Shona Platt was left reeling when she spotted the black hoodie worn by the arsonist – the very same one she had gifted Max for Christmas.
A chilling flashback confirmed her worst fears, revealing Max as the culprit.
ITV viewers watched in shock as he stuffed a rag through the Platts’ letterbox, doused it in petrol, and set it ablaze.
And Max knew the house was empty while the family celebrated Sarah’s birthday at the Bistro.
When Max woke up from his coma, Shona was livid at his actions and pointed out that his hoodie had a distinctive design and is only sold in one Manchester shop.
Max said he got the idea from David who had openly discussed the possibility of burning the house down in an insurance scam.
After David was finally released from questioning, he raced to the hospital to see Max.
He walked straight into a tense confrontation with Shona and Max and demanded to know what was wrong.
When David learned the truth about Max, he urgently tried to cover his tracks and raced to find the hoodie he dumped in a nearby dumpster.
Meanwhile, the Weatherfield residents are collecting money, belongings, toys and toiletries for the homeless Platts.
