One dead, four injured in jet collision at Scottsdale Airport, Arizona

Media outlets have reported that at least one person has died and four others were injured following a collision between two planes at Scottsdale Airport in the state of Arizona.

ABC News has reported that on Monday, February 10th, a Bombardier Learjet 35A, while attempting to land at Scottsdale Airport, collided with a Gulfstream 2100 business jet.

The report further states that, according to initial investigations, the primary landing gear of the Learjet 35A malfunctioned during landing, causing the collision with the Gulfstream 2100, which was parked on a private property.

The Federal Aviation Administration has also confirmed the incident, stating that one person has died as a result of the crash, two others are in critical condition, one person was sent to a local hospital, and another suffered minor injuries.

Additionally, reports indicate that all flights from Scottsdale Airport, located in Maricopa County, Arizona, have been halted following the collision.

The United States has experienced at least three aviation accidents in the past month, resulting in the deaths of dozens. In one of these incidents, a commercial passenger plane with 64 occupants collided with a training helicopter in Virginia, leading to the deaths of all passengers onboard.

These incidents highlight ongoing safety concerns in U.S. aviation, especially as the frequency of accidents seems to be rising.
