Champions Trophy 2025: Players from each team that are not in the squads
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had finalised the Indian squad for Champions Trophy, and pacer Jasprit Bumrah is out of the squad. Due to a back injury, his participation in this tournament was cancelled. Along with him, there have been a lot of other players from different teams that have been sidelined from the tournament. Let us see how many players from which country will not attend the tournament.
Australia- 5
Australia team had faced many shocks before the Champions Trophy. Along with captain Pat Cummins, few other players have been removed from the squad. Pacer Josh Hazlewood and all-rounder Mitchell Marsh are also out because of injuries. Marcus Stoinis is also one of the players. Mitchell Starc also decided to step down from the tournament due to personal reasons. In total, 5 players have been left out of Australia’s squad.
South Africa- 2
Two big pacers from South Africa are out of ICC Champions Trophy. Anrich Nortje and Jerald Coetzee will not play in Champions Trophy 2025. Nortje has not played in any match since the 2024 T20 World Cup. Anrish’s leg is broken, whereas Coetzee is suffering a groin injury.
India- 2
Indian team has seen 2 changes in the squad. Jasprit Bumrah has been sidelined due to his back injury. Bumrah was named in Indian squad for both the ODI series against England as well as the Champions Trophy, but now has been removed from the squad. Along with him, youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal has also been removed from Indian squad. He was a member of the 15-player squad, but now has been removed for tactical purposes.
England- 1
Jacob Bethell is the only player that has been removed from England’s Champions Trophy squad. This all-rounder was also not seen playing in the 2nd ODI against India in Cuttack. England captain Jos Buttler had also stated that the 21-year-old will not be playing in Champions Trophy.
Pakistan- 1
Pakistan superstar batter Saim Ayub is also out of Champions Trophy. 22-year-old star batter had an ankle injury during a clash against South Africa in January, due to which he had to undergo surgery.
