As the Sun’s Sexpert, I like to think I know my whips from my wands, and with Valentine’s Day landing on Friday, I’ve been testing out products designed to enhance the bedroom experience.

My boyfriend Dan* lives more than 40 miles away and frequently travels for work, giving us the ideal chance to explore some long-distance fun with the Chorus while I had the house to myself.

The WeVibe Chorus arrived in discreet packaging but, once I’d unwrapped that, there was nothing muted about the box itself: a fun, loud pink cube emblazoned with the words ‘Two Become One’.

I went for the Cosmic Pink shade, though the toy also comes in Coral, Purple and Cosmic Blue, and was immediately impressed by its sleek, bold design.

At approximately 8 cm long, 4cm high and 3 cm wide, it’s also small enough to pop in your handbag (along with remote) if you’re brave enough for a saucy night out with your partner.

First off, Dan and I both downloaded the free WeVibe app, which wasn’t the sexiest of starts — I’d recommend doing this in advance.

The app can also be used to enjoy other WeVibe products, which is handy.

The app took a bit of time to connect to the toy as Dan had to overcome some wi-fi issues at his hotel — again, not ideal for getting us in the mood.

But once we were set up and I’d inserted the silicone Chorus, settled back on the bed and engaged in a bit of dirty talk, I felt the vibrations kick in and soon began to relax. 

With three different settings and seven patterns, there was plenty of variety in vibrations, even if the strongest pulse wasn’t as strong as some other toys.

Despite the slight buzz-kill of having to connect the app and toy beforehand, the overall experience was fun, intense and worth it, and helped us feel connected from afar.

I was keen to see if Dan and I could replicate the success once we were reunited.

The Chorus is waterproof, making it easy to clean — though the remote is only splashproof.

There was no need to recharge the toy this time as the toy’s battery lasts for up to around 90 minutes. However, If I needed to charge it, this can be done via a USB cable in two hours, and the toy comes with a discreet charging box so unsuspecting visitors would never guess what’s inside.

As soon as Dan arrived home, I dragged him to the bedroom.

Again, I’d had to fiddle around with the remote and app to get set up which was a bit annoying, though at least this time I’d had the foresight to do it before things got steamy.

Using water-based lube, Dan inserted the Chorus inside me and we got down to it. What’s great about the toy is that it stimulates the clitoris, G-spot, and penis all at once, so we were both getting something out of the experience, making it feel more intimate.

It also stayed in place as we continued to have sex rather than shifting and needing to be rearranged; another plus.

Like the Chorus, the Lovense Lush 3 can be used solo or with a partner and is controlled via an app so it can be used in-person during sex, or from a distance.

Currently reduced from £199 to £99 on the Lovense website, it’s quite a bit cheaper but, unlike the Chorus, doesn’t offer clitoral stimulation.

A more affordable option is the Svakom Ella Neo, which is an app-controlled vibrating egg that can be put inside the vagina or used as a clitoral stimulator.

At £50.99 it’s a fraction of the price of the We-Vibe and Lovense toys, but it can’t simultaneously stimulate the G-spot and clitoris and probably doesn’t do as much for male pleasure as the We-Vibe. Some reviewers also have gripes about the usability of the app.
