Former Ohio State offensive lineman Ben Christman dead at 21
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- A former Ohio State offensive lineman from Akron has died at the age of 21.
According to NBC4's sister station in Las Vegas, Ben Christman died at an off-campus residence in Clark County, Nevada. KLAS in Las Vegas reports that Christman's cause of death remains pending while an investigation is underway.
Christman was a redshirt true freshman with Ohio State in 2021 and lists Akron, Ohio as his hometown. He transferred to Kentucky in 2023, but missed the season due to injury. He appeared in 12 games in 2024 before announcing a transfer to UNLV.
The Richfield Revere standout was the top-rated offensive lineman in Ohio and earned Suburban League American Conference co-Offensive Player of the Year after recording 121 pancakes as a senior.
