DUNELM has slashed the price of cosy heated socks to £3 as it launches a huge clearance sale on hundreds of items.

The homeware and furniture retailer is selling the winter warmers at a whopping 75% discount.

Shoppers can pick up a small, medium and large pair for free through click and collect, but home delivery isn’t available.

The fluffy socks are machine-washable and come with mini heat packs which can be warmed up in the microwave.

If you’re not happy with the socks, you can return them within 28 days of purchase and get a refund.

You can read more about Dunelm‘s return policy on its website.

As ever, always shop around before buying any product like this through websites like Trolley or Price Spy as you might find it cheaper elsewhere.

We checked out if any other retailers are selling heated socks similar to this for less than £3 and couldn’t find any though.

The next cheapest option is Online Home Shop which is selling some for £6 down from £18.

If the socks don’t take your fancy, Dunelm has launched a clearance sale on over 450 more items, with up to 87% off.

Shoppers can pick up everything from candles, cleaning products and cutlery for as little as 50p.

The bargain retailer has cut the price of Ecover lemon and orange toilet cleaner from £2 to 50p.

Bargain hunters can also pick up a bamboo dish brush for 50p down from £2, or mulled wine candles for 50p.

There’s also a matte toilet roll holder on sale for £1.50 instead of £12.50 and seat cushions for £4.

Not all the products are available for home delivery but all those we checked can be bought via click and collect.

If you are going to order via home delivery, charges start from £3.95 unless you spend £49, in which case they’re waived.

How to stay warm for less

You don’t always have to crank up the heating to keep warm over the colder months – there are a number of tricks you can use to stay toasty while saving cash.

One is by warming yourself up rather than the room itself, with a number of products on the market that can do just that.

Consumer reporter Sam Walker tested a heated gilet and worked out it could save him £420 on his energy bills.

Electric blankets can be fitted to your bed to keep you warm overnight too, costing just pennies to run per hour.

Heated throws are ideal if you’re looking to keep warm on the sofa while watching your favourite TV show too.

You don’t have to buy gadgets that need powering up either.

A classic water bottle is one of the oldest tricks in the book for keeping warm without blasting on the central heating.

Dunelm has some on sale with prices starting from just £1.25.

Or, you can use draught excluders to keep any heat from your home locked in for longer.

The exact temperature to set your thermostat

ENERGY bills remain relatively high leaving many worrying over the thermostat.

Energy experts have revealed the exact temperature to set it at so that you can save cash and still keep warm.

When it comes to your thermostat, the Energy Saving Trust recommends you should set it to the “lowest comfortable temperature”.

For the majority of us, this is between 18 and 21 degrees Celsius.

It’s just the right balance between keeping your home warm, and keeping those energy bills as low as possible.

If you have your thermostat set at a higher temperature you can probably afford to turn it down and still keep cosy.

Of course, there are exceptions like anyone who is in ill health, and there is support available to cover extra costs.

Just by turning down the temp by a single degree, you could save as much as £100 a year.

If you cut it by more you will obviously make even bigger savings.

The Energy Saving Trust also says that you don’t need to turn your thermostat up when it is colder outside, the house will still heat up to the set temperature.
