Massive snowstorm causes major ‘dystopian’ pile-up involving 95 vehicles in Sweden

This was the devastating aftermath of a pile-up caused by intense snowstorms in Sweden in what has been described as a like a ‘dystopian film scene’.
More than 100 people were left needing hospital treatment after dozens of cars and lorries crashed into each other in the Upsalla region on Saturday.
Two people are currently in intensive care, according to authorities.
Images from the scene show destroyed cars and lorries piled into each other on a road called the E18 between Enkoping and Balsta.
According to regional health official Mikael Kohler, around 95 vehicles were involved in two major collisions.
A police spokesperson told SVT, the Swedish broadcaster, the aftermath was like out of a ‘dystopian film scene’.
Sweden’s transport authority has warned people not to travel country routes in the Uppsala region.
Temperatures in Sweden are currently -4°C.
