'She was so loved': Family remembers Newberg teen killed in ATV accident
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- After a teen girl died in an ATV crash on Thursday, her family is remembering their "beautiful" sister.
Deputies said the crash happened on NE Hagey Road in rural Dundee just before 3:30 p.m. and took place while an ATV was towing a sled.
“While the investigation will take some time to complete, tragically, a young adult was killed in a crash involving an ATV towing a sled on the snowy roadway,” the Yamhill County Sheriff's office said.
Officials identified the victim as 18-year-old Lily Vanderhoff, a recent graduate of Newberg High School.
Vanderhoff's sisters, Natalie Kerata and Violet Logan, told KOIN 6 News that they looked up to their younger sister.
"She brought so much light to our lives," Logan said. "She was beautiful. She loved Jesus and she was a really good sister… She was so loved and touched so many lives."
Vanderhoff's memorial is planned for Sunday, Feb. 23 at 2 p.m. at Northwest Christian Church in Newberg.
A GoFundMe has been created to cover funeral expenses. As of Monday night, over $15K had been raised.
"It's been overwhelming, all the support we have received," Kerata said.
