Re: Ex club class
Block27oneNo sense of superiority here. I choose to spend my money purchasing the best seat that I can afford.
You could also do this if you so wish. It’s called choice.????
My blood has been boiling since reading this moronic post and, despite my best endeavours, I can no longer resist responding. Sorry it’s going to be a long one! I was 5 when I saw my first game at St Andrew’s on Christmas Day 1956. We beat Sheffield Wednesday 4 -0 and finished 12th in old Div 1. 13 years later bought my first ST with my first months wages (plus a sub from my grandad). By then we were in Div2 under Stan Cullis. The following year saw the beginning of the Freddie Goodwin era. I held a season ticket (most years 2) for the next 41 years during which the shortest round trip from home to blues was, and still is 300 miles. For several years I had to travel from overseas.
15 years ago my life imploded and without going in to detail, I took early retirement and became a full-time carer. I consider myself lucky and privileged to still be in that position, so I’m not looking for any sympathy or special treatment…shit happens and you just get on and deal with it.
I gave up our season tickets in 2011 because I could only realistically get to 25% of home games. Every year I try to get to as many home and away games as circumstances allow (yes that even includes against Fulham reserves in the early round of the cup). Tuesdays game was a typical night game for me. 3 days trying to arrange 12 hours in home care, left home at 3.30pm and getting back home at 2.30pm. I’ve already got my tickets for the Orient and Wickham games and trying to make myself available to get to Bolton away.
So on behalf of myself and all the others who can’t get to see the Blues as often as they like, I dare you to look me in the eye and tell me to my face that it’s just a matter of affordability and choice you feckin moron!
