Pedestrian dies after being hit by car in Gresham crash
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A pedestrian died from his injuries Thursday after being hit by a car in Gresham the day prior, authorities said.
Gresham Police originally responded to the 3800 block of Northeast Hogan Road on a report that a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle on Wednesday afternoon.
The pedestrian was taken to the hospital for what police believed to be a non-life-threatening injury to his leg.
Early investigation found the crash was "at a relatively slow speed" and the driver was not impaired, authorities said. However, the driver was cited for Careless Driving contributing to an accident involving a vulnerable user of a public way.
The pedestrian later died at the hospital from his injuries. His identity has not been released at this time.
