Evil mum left mins-old newborn to die in airport toilet – before trying to catch flight home from Turkey, court hears
A HEARTLESS mum has allegedly abandoned her newborn baby to die in an airport toilet before attempting to board a flight home, a Turkish court has heard.
Russian tourist Ekaterina Burnazkina, 29, is accused of giving birth in a disabled toilet at Turkey‘s Antalya Airport before leaving the minutes-old infant and heading for passport control.
Prosecutors told Turkey‘s High Criminal Court that the baby was found jammed in freezing water with her feet submerged.
She only survived because a cleaner discovered her 12 minutes later and raised the alarm.
Security footage shows Burnazkina entering the lavatory alone and later rejoining her family.
She and her mother were later stopped at passport control and arrested last October.
But in a shocking courtroom twist, the mum – who denies the charge of attempted murder – pleaded to have her child returned.
She told the court: “I want my daughter back.”
The infant, now recovering in a hospital in Antalya, is said to be in a stable condition.
Burnazkina’s own mother has claimed she had no idea her daughter was even pregnant.
The trial continues.
It comes after a Russian rapper and TikToker tragically died after collapsing in a scalding-hot bath.
Victoria Lerman, 32, was found dead with severe burn injuries in the bathroom at her home in Achinsk, Krasnoyarsk Krai, southern Russia.
A preliminary investigation suggests she accidentally burned herself with boiling-hot water on the night of February 9.
The intense pain reportedly caused her to faint, leaving her face directly under the stream from the tap.
Victoria remained unconscious for hours as the scorching water continued to pour over her, leading to her death.
When her partner found her, the rapper’s face had been horrifically burned, and emergency services were called immediately.
But some of Victoria’s friends and relatives are reportedly sceptical of the accident theory, instead suspecting foul play involving her partner.
Investigators have reportedly found traces of illegal substances in the apartment.
Due to the extent of her injuries, Victoria was buried in a closed coffin, and reports claim her partner did not attend the funeral.
The investigation remains ongoing.
