DOI judge suffers awkward blunder as he gives skater wrong score forcing Holly Willoughby to step in
HOLLY Willoughby was forced to step in as one of the judges made a huge blunder on Dancing On Ice.
Christopher Dean seemingly made an error in his scoring as the show was plagued with a technical difficulty.
Coronation Street actor Sam Aston and his partner Molly Lanaghan took to the rink to perform in Musicals Night.
They impressed the judges with their Oliver Twist inspired routine as they received an electric round of applause from the studio audience.
Ashley Banjo and Jayne Torvill both gave a score of nine points, while Oti Mabuse gave a score of nine and a half.
However, when it came down to Christopher to enter his result, the wrong score appeared in front of him.
He insisted that meant to enter a score of nine and a half points, but instead he appeared to get slightly flustered.
The screen in front of him appeared to say that he entered a eight and a half points, a score of one point lower than he intended.
The former Olympian said: “This will really annoy those upstairs”
It meant there was an awkward moment where the correct score he entered wasn’t displayed in front of the judges desk.
An empty square was displayed in front of him as his points were missing from the final tally as Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern moved to the remarks from the panel.
The total score from all the judges seemed unclear and the show appeared to move to the start of the judges critiques.
This was before Holly stepped in to announce Sam’s full score to the competitor and the studio audience.
She later announced that he got a total score of 37 but only as the correct amount of points were displayed on the front of the desk.
Viewers very much took note of the awkward blunder as they took to social media.
Writing on X – formerly known as Twitter – one viewer commented: “Good to see the popularity contest continues. Chris is a joke 8.5 I meant 9.5.”
A second stated: “Blimey Chris is a bit of tease. Keep at it and the marks will go up?.”
