Rico Nasty Gets Wrapped Up in Strappy Black Stilettos at “Opus” Premiere
Rico Nasty gets strappy in a backless, asymmetrical silk slip dress and black strappy stilettos at the “Opus” premiere yesterday in Los Angeles.
The rapper’s shoes feature a pointed-toe, two straps across the toes a third across the foot and a long ankle wrap. The red carpet-classic footwear boasts and approximately four-inch stiletto heel. She completed her all all-black look with a shiny black mani-pedi, smoky eye makeup and a sleek, asymmetrical bob with bangs.
Strappy sandals often feature long straps that wrap around the ankle and up the calf, and are a popular choice with shorter dresses and other silhouettes that showcase legs. A staple shoe of red carpets and warmer months, strappy sandals can be any heel height for versatile wear. They channel Grecian gladiator-style sandals, which continue to return to fashion rather regularly.
The “Arintintin” artist’s style is edgy, avant-garde and chameleonic, often with a punk-meets-glam angle. She paired the same strappy sandals with a shaggy black faux fur coat and spikey handbag during the Laruicci Womenswear Fall 2024-2025 show during Paris Fashion Week. Her footwear taste is as edgy and eclectic as her fashion. For her performances, she’s a fan of combat boots, heeled knee-high boots, rave-ready platform and go-go boots and chunky sneakers.
A24’s “Opus” stars John Malkovich as an eccentric older pop star and possible cult leader who invites journalists, including co-lead Ayo Edebiri, and fans to his remote desert compound for an album listening party. The horror-satire is Mark Anthony Green’s debut feature and arrives to movie theaters on March 14.
The “Opus” premiere took place on Feb. 19 at the Egyptian Theater Hollywood. The film’s stars Edebiri, Malkovich, Stephanie Suganami and John Malkovich joined the premiere in style, as did celebrity guests Usher, Taylor Rooks and Omar Apollo.
