Zoe Saldaña Rewears Maison Margiela x Christian Louboutin Tabi Pumps at the 2025 NAACP Image Awards
Zoe Saldaña put on a unique Maison Margiela look to attend the 56th NAACP Image Awards, which took place in Los Angeles on Feb. 22 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. It was a Margiela ensemble from head to toe for the “Emilia Pérez” actress — though notably her shoes were a collaborative creation, as she donned Maison Margiela for Christian Louboutin pumps. A fan of the footwear, she previously wore the style at the Critics’ Circle Film Awards in London in early February.
For her apparel, Saldaña looked to the recent past for fashion inspiration, as she stepped out in a unique dress from Maison Margiela’s fall 2015 haute couture collection. The knee-length garment, showcasing gradient silver and neutral shades, played with both pattern and texture in its design. Large shiny discs formed a unique geometric pattern across the skirt while the layered bodice featured mesh, stitching and strips of fabric with jagged edges. The dress also featured spaghetti straps, a subtle sweetheart neckline and additional flouncy fabric accenting the back of the look.
Like her dress, Saldaña’s shoes made a strong statement with their distinctive design. Christian Louboutin and John Galliano of Maison Margiela showcased collaborative shoes in the Maison Margiela 2024 Artisanal collection in January of last year. Saldaña’s pumps include Margiela’s famous Tabi design, which is defined by a cloven toe. This unique look was applied to a red-bottomed pump with two slender straps intersecting across the foot and a stiletto heel.
Saldaña displayed this Louboutin x Margiela creation just one day after the brands announced they are coming out with their first collaborative capsule collection, which, not unlike the Tabi shoe, is split into two parts: Maison Margiela for Christian Louboutin and Christian Louboutin for Maison Margiela. The bifurcated Tabi look and more styles are included in the collection, which is slated for release on March 12. See photos of the shoes below.
