'Cutesy time is over': Dan Bongino weeps after taking Trump's offer as FBI deputy director
Fringe right-wing conspiracy theorist Dan Bongino wiped away tears on one of his final broadcasts after accepting the job of FBI deputy director from President Donald Trump.
During his Monday podcast titled "Cutesy Time is Over," Bongino confirmed that he would serve as the FBI's second in command.
"The vision of President Trump, Attorney General Bondi, and Director Patel, I am going to do my job to implement that vision," he promised. "I can tell you right now, we are going to try our best."
"Every single thing I have in me, every single strand of DNA cell in my body is going to be dedicated towards keeping this homeland safe, no matter what," he promised. "We are going to re-establish faith in this institution."
"But this is the honor of a lifetime, and it's a serious mission."
Bongino vowed to follow the U.S. Constitution.

"And I hope I'm making a plea to you all personally, I hope you're not angry or upset at me for making this decision," he said. "I knew it was the right thing to do, but there is a big cost, and I understand that. There is a chance when the mission's over that you guys all disappear and go somewhere else."
"I love you guys, but this is a mission I can't say no to."
