Lane Johnson had a 1 emoji reaction to the attempted Tush Push ban

After it was heavily utilized en route to a victory in Super Bowl 58 over the Kansas City Chiefs, we may have seen the last of the Philadelphia Eagles’ iconic Tush Push play.

On Monday, it was reported that an anonymous NFL team had submitted a proposal to the league’s competition committee that would ban the use of the Tush Push — a variation of the quarterback sneak in which players line up behind Jalen Hurts and push him over the line on short-yardage plays.

Later on Monday, that team was revealed to be the Green Bay Packers.

Lane Johnson, Philadelphia’s veteran left tackle and a two-time First-Team All-Pro, took to social media to deliver a simple, one-emoji reaction.

It’s easy to see why Johnson, who has participated in quite a few Tush Pushes during the latter part of his 12-year career in Philly, thinks this is so funny. After all, it does reek of sour grapes as other teams have attempted to recreate the Tush Push without the same success the Eagles have found (with the exception of the Buffalo Bills).

Whether the Tush Push is actually banned this offseason remains to be seen. The legality of the play is not a new topic of conversation and has been discussed by examined by the competition committee in previous offseasons with no action ultimately taken.

Johnson may have run his final Tush Push in Philadelphia, but the two-time Super Bowl champion should still get the last laugh.
