Britain’s Got Talent’s mysterious Yorkshire Pudding Boy unmasked – and he’s already appeared on another ITV show
BRITAIN’S Got Talent’s mysterious Yorkshire Pudding Boy has been unmasked – and he’s already appeared on another famous TV show.
The wacky contestant seemed to be inspired by fellow ITV show The Masked Singer, as his costume concealed his identity and sent fans on a guessing game.
On Saturday night, Britain’s Got Talent viewers watched with their jaws open as Yorkshire Pudding Boy took to the stage to perform for judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and guest judge KSI.
The man behind the mask delivered a baking themed performance of Winter Wonderland which was hilariously off-key.
This led to all four judges hitting their buzzers – meaning his time on BGT was already over.
Unfazed by this rejection, as he walked off stage he told hosts Ant and Dec: “It went better than expected!”
YORKSHIRE PUDDING UNMASKED
Yorkshire Pudding Boy has now been revealed as James Paley – and he’s been on TV before.
The pub landlord from Southend has also appeared on This Morning, where he talked about the wacky costume.
In fact he was only on the show four months ago, and was seen speaking to hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.
James revealed that he used 900 Yorkshire puddings to create the costume, and it could take about a day to make.
He is also popular on Instagram, and uses his handle to show off his bizarre creations.
For the past ten years, he has been making Yorkshire pudding themed costumes for himself and his sons, inspired by a fictional superhero they created together.
What started as a fun family tradition, has now racked up millions of views online.
MAKING THE COSTUME
James revealed how he sprays the baked puddings with lacquer to make sure they last longer, and don’t get a soggy bottom.
All of the Yorkshire puddings are home baked and each costume can take between five hours to a day to make.
Speaking to his followers, he said: “We make the puddings fresh each year, and I spray them with a lacquer to make sure they last.
“You can’t take yourself too seriously in life, and people seem to be loving what we’re doing.”
James might not have gone down well with the BGT judges, but he has become a hit with fans.
The Yorkshire Pudding Boy is now in demand, with Aunt Bessie’s having even reached out for a potential collaboration.
