‘Nobody knows’ – Jamie Carragher exposes iShowSpeed’s ‘real name’ on live TV during Champions League coverage
JAMIE CARRAGHER revealed social media sensation iShowSpeed’s real name during CBS Sports’ Champions League coverage.
The YouTuber was a surprise guest on the American broadcaster’s pundit panel, which included Kate Abdo, Thierry Henry, Micah Richards and Carragher, for their coverage of Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain.
The topic of iShowSpeed‘s real name was eventually brought up by host Abdo, who asked the 20-year-old if he could disclose it.
He replied: “That’s kind of federal because nobody knows my real name.”
Carragher then blurted out the star’s name, saying: “Darren Watkins.”
The panel laughed uncontrollably as iShowSpeed scowled at the former Liverpool and England defender.
iShowSpeed then proceeded to imitate Carragher’s accent as he said the retired star’s name.
He said then: “Jamie Carragher. Like, God.”
Footage of the hilarious exchange spread like wildfire on X, with one footie fan saying: “Carragher is hilarious, man.”
Another said: “Good old Darren.”
And another said: “iShowSpeed is one of the best thing lately that has happened for football. No debate.”
One remarked: “Very funny.”
iShowSpeed’s entry to the CBS’ studio was far from a smooth one as he was initially DENIED access by security, which led to an on-air apology from Richards.
The former Manchester City star said: “I would like to apologise to IShowSpeed.
“I’ve been DMing him and he said he wanted to come on the show.
“And he came yesterday but his access got denied. I didn’t know he was coming yesterday!
“The legend that he is IShowSpeed couldn’t get through the doors. Rejection.
“But what I would like to do, what I would like to do, IShowSpeed we would like you to come tonight we’re here till 11pm, Kate, is that right?
“We could have a bit of fun. London time, of course, we could have a little bit of fun with Thierry and Jamie.”
