Meghan Markle gushes over Harry & shares clip of rarely-seen Archie and Lili during touchy-feely interview
MEGHAN Markle gushed over Prince Harry as she shared a clip of rarely-seen Archie and Lili during a touchy-feely Drew Barrymore chat.
The Duchess of Sussex, 43, made a surprise appearance on Thursday’s show and swooned over her hubby.
Meghan also revealed a heartwarming video of her son Archie, five, and Lili, three.
It came as she made cookies with Drew, but told her host she had actually prepared several batches already.
“The good news is we don’t have to make tons because I made a lot for you on Sunday,” she said.
“When I realized we were going to do this, I said, ‘How many people are we making cookies for?’
“And they said, ‘Count on the audience.’ And I wanted the crew to be able to have some.”
Meghan told how she enlisted her friend and wedding dress designer Clare Waight Keller to help.
She continued: “Clare had come in from the UK to have lunch. I said, ‘Clare, can I put you to work too?’
“So we all sat around. We made these cookies for you guys to enjoy. And I just thought it’d be fun.”
A clip of her baking the goodies was then played, which featured herself, Archie and Lilibet as well as friends.
It showed Lili standing on a step stool to watch the process unfold.
She appeared to be wearing adorable pink pajamas with her reddish hair tied back in a bun.
Meghan was seen giving Archie a sweet kiss on the head at the end of the montage.
He sported a white short-sleeved top and dark tracksuit trousers.
Drew said: “Meghan literally made cookies for all of you guys.
“Each one of you are going to get to try this cookie. We’ve never had someone come here and do that.”
“My husband helped as well,” Meghan added.
It comes as the mum-of-two appears to be sharing more about her children in recent weeks as Lili was also captured in a Instagram story alongside Serena Williams earlier this week.
Meghan also revealed some adorable secrets about the siblings in her new show on Tuesday.
In episode two she explained: “Our kids have real sets, they take their gardening very seriously.
“We have them every day because I think that’s how our kids love eating vegetables, you make it present beautifully with your eyes first”.
As she scooped strawberry preserve, Meg added: “Lili and I actually made this batch together.
“She picked these with me, she is like ‘no mamma I will stir it’. But she is proud, that part feels good”.
Meghan’s Netflix show is not real life as real people know it
By Arthur Edwards, Sun royal photographer
IN With Love, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex took the best part of an hour to show us how to make spaghetti, a cake and a cup of tea.
Now tea is like champagne to me but Meghan makes a brew I wouldn’t want to drink.
If anyone presented me with such a terrible cup of tea I’d be insulted.
You’d have thought that after nearly seven years married to an Englishman she’d have learned how to make a proper cuppa.
But in the first episode poor Harry was nowhere to be seen and their kids were only mentioned in passing.
Instead, she was preparing for a visit from her old friend Daniel who she met on the set of Suits.
Daniel, who just loved everything, reminded us how Meghan’s side hustle when she was filming Suits was a lifestyle blog called the Tig.
With Love, Meghan is just a beautifully shot version of The Tig.
But the dialogue was just weird. I lost count of how many times Daniel gushed that Meghan was ‘amazing’ – and asked ‘why can no one present peas like you?’
While Meghan, who ‘did the heavy lifting by baking a cake’ told Daniel, ‘you zested that lemon so beautifully’.
This is not real life as real people know it. This is Montecito world.
Who makes their own candles?
Most people have so little time to spare they just buy them down the shops.
Nice try Meghan but I cannot see Netflix commissioning another series.
With love, Arthur.
During her chat with Drew, Meghan also revealed exactly what happened when they first started dating in 2016.
Opening up about a sweet promise Harry made to her, she said: “When I was in college and one of the dads said to me, he’s like, ‘You know, Megan, when you meet your person one day, I want him to say to you the same thing that I said to my wife when we got married, which is, I vowed to always date my wife.’
“And I told H that when we started dating, he goes, ‘I vow to always date you’.
“So we have this connection I think because we’re so committed to treating each other the same way you did before you had a ring on it, before it was locked down when you’re just courting each other and you can see all the good and joy in that butterfly period and that’s I think what keeps things really alive.”
Discussing love, with Drew saying Harry “found” Meghan, the Suits star said: “I mean, look, life is full of surprises. I did not expect to meet H and for this to be our love story and you know I’m very lucky.
“I am married to the funniest, sweetest, most charming, I mean, he’s all the things that you’re describing.
“He’s an amazing father. And so, you know, I count my blessings because I have him and also I have a partner who is so supportive of me.”
Harry and Meghan tied the knot at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, on Saturday May 19 2018.
Three days before their official royal wedding, the couple had a private ceremony at their home.
During the interview Drew also appeared to catch Meghan off guard when she presented a photograph of herself with Princess Diana.
The host shared how she met Harry’s late mother when she was seven-years-old.
She said: “It means so much to me to have met such an incredible human being that transcended everything. It was the honor of my life.”
Meghan replied: “Oh, my gosh, look at your little face.
“Oh, that’s so sweet. That’s really special. I will tell H [Harry] that, for sure.”
Meghan’s rare appearance on TV came after her new show With Love, Meghan aired on Netflix this week.
The mother-of-two stars in eight 33-minute episodes, sharing recipes with friends, creating harvest baskets, getting emotional over bees, and hosting numerous soirées.
In the final segment of episode eight, Feels Like Home, Meghan celebrated the launch of her new business and lifestyle brand, As Ever, featuring a brief cameo from Prince Harry.
While perusing an elaborate spread of food and champagne, Harry and Meghan shared an intimate moment, with Harry congratulating her, saying, “Well done, you did a great job.”
Meghan whispers a soft “Thank you,” to which Harry responds warmly with, “I love it.”
Speaking exclusively to Fabulous, body language expert Judi James explained: “He places an arm around Meghan’s shoulders, pulling her close to his torso, creating the impression that she is endearingly tucked under his arm.
“He nuzzles her affectionately, saying, ‘You’ve done a good job,’ in a gentle, intimate tone, even allowing his face to be partially obscured to give her his full attention.”
The expert continued: “Harry’s body language here exudes a pronounced aura of machismo, as though he’s stepped straight out of his polo documentary into a world of ‘feminine’ soft skills.
“His shoulders are square, his legs are splayed, one hand is casually slung into his jeans pocket in a gesture of sexual power, while the other clutches his drink as though preparing to toast the regiment.”
During the show Meghan also insisted her surname is now “Sussex” after correcting a celebrity pal in her new Netflix show.
In the second episode, Meghan welcomes US Office star Mindy Kaling who says: “People wouldn’t believe that Meghan Markle ate at Jack in the Box.”
Meghan fires back with: “It’s so funny, too, that you keep saying Meghan Markle. You know I’m Sussex now.”
One of Prince Harry’s favourite dishes was also revealed in episode three.
The Duchess told celeb chef Roy Choi: “Have I fried chicken before solo? Never.
“My grandma, my mum’s mum used to fry chicken. But I love it and my husband loves fried chicken too. So maybe we’re going to start making some more of this.
“I feel as though if you’re making it at home, you’re going to want to make it with friends or family.”
Meg also told how the Duke cracks salt over every meal – and how he’s a great cook.
Meg cooks pointless recipes in £20k kitchen to delight of her millionaire mates
By Ethan Singh
MEGHAN Markle cooking recipes in her £20k kitchen with her millionaire mates is completely out of touch with normal people, a royal expert has said.
The Duchess of Sussex, 43, hit screens in her Netflix cooking and lifestyle docuseries With Love, Meghan on Tuesday.
Across eight 33-minute episodes the mum-of-two made jokes about her bacon, shared recipes with pals, learnt from celeb chefs and even became emotional over bees.
But shortly after the release, harsh viewers left scathing criticism.
Now, royal author and biographer Hugo Vickers has weighed in to the debate with his own opinion.
In an exclusive chat with The Sun, Hugo said that Meghan’s show could appear “out of touch” to many.
Hugo said: “I mean, it really is a rich woman in a very expensive kitchen, which is not her own, and one of the reports said you’d have to spend £8 million to get a house with a kitchen like that in it.
“The various pots and pans and devices that you need are all have all been listed in the media, and all very expensive, you know.
“I see figures like £450 for some things and £60 for some smaller things.
“It’s a sort of it’s a sort of presentation of a kind of a rather false, but, you know, potentially enviable life, I suppose, in Montecito, I mean, it’s all very glamorous, and doesn’t seem to have very much to do with reality.”
The royal autobiographer added that despite being a TV show, the way it is staged takes away from the “realism” of it all.
He added: “A sparklingly clean kitchen people chopping up vegetables, and whisking them into different bowls, and making it all present beautifully, and then serving it to their friends, who no doubt dip in and have a good time. I mean, it’s another world.
“It’s not really what cooking is like with all the mess and whatnot, it is a completely other world. I would say.”
And viewers may be wondering whether she really does live like that, says Hugo.
Hugo continued: “Many of us don’t even have a garden. We don’t have bees. We can’t make honey, we can’t, you know.
“We can’t do any of these things because we don’t have the ingredients to hand, you know. Whether she does or not. I don’t know, but it implies that she does so, you know.
“And does she, in fact, spend her whole time cooking and doing all these things? Or is this just for the benefit of the Netflix viewers.
“This is the other question.”
Unfortunately for Meg, her show was also described by social media users as the “FAKEST stuff ever” and “only for the richest people”.
“All of Meghan Markle’s “recipes” can be found on Pinterest,” claimed someone else.
She said: “I have a family, a husband, who no matter what meal is put in front of him, before he tastes it, puts salt on.
“So I try to under-salt.”
The Duchess added in another episode: “H is a great cook.”
Her pals then said “scrambled eggs” and they all swooned.
But, Royal expert Ingrid Seward told The Sun that she believes Prince Harry should have had more screen time.
She said: “I think we’re only aware of Meghan because of Harry and I still think that they made a mistake.
“Netflix should have persuaded Harry to be a much bigger part of this show, and made it there for an amusement value rather than sort of glossy look at me and my gold jewellery and my white clothes and my beautiful makeup.
“I think they’ve got it wrong. I think it could have really worked with a lot of humour in it, and a few mistakes. It’s all too perfect.
“I don’t think Harry would have done 8 episodes, but he might have done 4.
“I’m sure that Meghan could have persuaded him to be part of it, and then, of course, it would’ve still got criticised, but at least it would have been fun.”
