Joann no longer taking online orders, gift cards ahead of store closings
NEW YORK (PIX11) -- With nearly 800 stores closing, Joann is offering discounts up to 50% in-store, but its no longer accepting gift cards or online orders.
On Feb. 28, the chain stopped taking gift cards. Now, a message on Joann's website announced the end to online orders.
"Due to high demand, we can no longer fulfill online orders. Please see your local store for all your crafting needs," the message reads.
But, the stores are still getting new merchandise, according to Joann's website.
Over 40 stores in New York and New Jersey will close after the Ohio-based company filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in January – the second time in a year. In February, Joann confirmed that it would be closing all of its stores, located across 49 states.
