The Centre announced a USD 1 billion fund to boost India's creators' economy and invited over 100 countries to the inaugural World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) in Mumbai. WAVES, positioned like the World Economic Forum, aims to converge the media and entertainment sector. An Indian Institute of Creative Technology will also be established.
