0

Although Yellowstone itself ended in late 2024, Taylor Sheridan's western empire is going strong. In fact, even if reviews were mixed about the ending of Yellowstone, its prequel series, 1923, is bigger than ever. Currently streaming on Paramount+, 1923 Season 2 has just doubled its audience since 2022.

According to an official press release from Paramount+, 1923 Season 2 roped in 17 million global viewers, and the overall rating for Season 2 is up 41 percent over Season 1. So far, Season 2 has a combined total of 77 million viewers, which is 11 times the amount of people who watched two years ago. In short, 1923 is quietly, one of the most popular streaming shows on TV right now.

As a prequel to Yellowstone, the events of 1923 chronicle the tribulations of the Dutton family, their enemies, and allies, well before the modern age of the primary show. Intended as a limited series, 1923 will not continue after Season 2, though several more Yellowstone TV series are in the works.

There are eight episodes in 1923 Season 2 overall. The next new episode will be Episode 5, "Only Gunshots to Guide Us" and will follow Spencer's (Brandon Sklenar) journey home, as well as his confrontation with this season's newest character Texas Marshall Mamie Fossett (Jennifer Carpenter).

1923 streams on Paramount+ New episodes drop on Sundays.
