Chennai Super Kings (CSK) suffered their second defeat of IPL 2025 as they failed to chase a target of 183 against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Guwahati on March 30. CSK’s efforts were not enough and the team suffered their second defeat in three matches.

The Chennai team was at the 8th spot in the points table, and should have moved further down after this defeat. However, the opposite scenario has happened. Instead of moving down, CSK have moved up and are now at the 7th spot in the points table. The team has 2 points with 1 win and 2 defeats.

This change in the points table happened due to the poor Net Run Rate by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). CSK have 2 points in their account at a net run rate of -0.771, which was -1.013 before the match had begun.

SRH suffered their second defeat of the season, and have 2 points to their name. They have a net run rate of -0.871, which is higher (negatively) than CSK’s NRR of 0.771.
