Glen Powell's Mom Breaks Silence on Sydney Sweeney Rumors

Actress Sydney Sweeney, 27, and fiance Jonathan Davino, 41, hit pause on their wedding earlier this year, sparking potential breakup rumors.

Just a few weeks later, those rumors appear to have been true. On March 31, People reported that the couple, who relationship had been "rocky," is calling it quits. Along with her catalog of upcoming work, Sweeny was "overwhelmed" by attempting to plan the wedding.

"What did make her overwhelmed though was her relationship and her wedding. She didn't feel right about it," the source said adding, Sweeney is "in the middle of this magical career that she could only dream of a few years ago," therefore, "This is what she wants to focus on right now."

The breakup comes just days after Sweeney was spotted in Dallas along with Anyone But You co-star Glen Powell for the wedding of his sister, Leslie. While fans rushed to judgement hoping the two took their on-screen romance off screen, Powell's mother set the record straight.

“They’re definitely not together. It was just, like, she was there [at the wedding] with her friend,” Cyndy Powell told the Daily Mail. She revealed Sweeney is “really close friends” with the Powell family and RSVPed “a long time ago” to attend the event with her best friend as her plus one.

“Nothing going on behind closed doors,” she stated. “He’s the kindest person and he is so others-oriented. He loves his family, he loves his friends. And Sydney is a friend. They’ve been friends for so long. They’ve known each other for so long and they’ve both been single and together and with other people. They could have made anything happen that they wanted to at any point. But he’s got so many friends that care about him and he cares about, and he’s got a really nice group of friends that they kind of take care of each other. It’s really nice.”

Powell's mother considers Sweeney to be "just a really, really good friend. We all were together so much, and we haven’t seen her in a long time. She’s really a friend and we all enjoy her."
