Luigi Mangione, 26, is facing the death penalty for the alleged premeditated murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. The charge was announced by U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, who stated that Thompson’s assassination was a shocking, cold-blooded act. The federal government, in alignment with President Trump's agenda to deter violent crime, will pursue capital punishment.
