Broussard man faces drug charges after home search
BROUSSARD, La. (KLFY) -- A Broussard man is facing drug and weapons charges following his arrest Friday in Lafayette Parish, authorities said.
James Fails, 31, of Broussard, is charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute MDMA, possession with intent to distribute THC wax, possession with intent to distribute THC vape cartridges, monies derived from drug proceeds, possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The Broussard Police Department and the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant Friday on Fails’ residence in the 100 block of Wilkie Street. Officials said 784 grams (1.7 lbs.) of marijuana, 1902 MDMA pills, 673 milliliters of promethazine, 230 grams of THC wax, 41 THC vapes cartridges, a digital scale, an undisclosed amount of cash and a Draco firearm were recovered.
Bond details were not released. This case remains under investigation.
