Central Ohio Weather and Radar

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- The weekly test of tornado sirens in central Ohio has been called off for Wednesday due to pending severe weather.

Franklin County Emergency Management and Homeland Security announced Tuesday that the weekly test was suspended.

"If the sirens sound, the National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Warning for the local area and residents should take action," the department wrote in an announcement.

According to the latest weather forecast, a line of strong thunderstorms is expected to move through the region Wednesday night into Thursday, with Columbus and areas to the west of the city at enhanced risk (3 out of 5) for severe weather; that goes down to a slight risk (2 out of 5) east of the city.

Sunday night's storms, while fairly quick-moving, did bring down trees, knock out power, and spun up a handful of tornadoes in the area.
