'Disgrace to broadcasting!' Trump lobs late-night attacks on MSNBC and Comcast
President Donald Trump lobbed a late-night attack against MSNBC and CNN.
Fox News again clobbered its competitors in the ratings for the first quarter of 2025, with the conservative network boasting it had posted the highest-rated quarter with weekday viewers in cable news history, and the president gloated as if he had something to do with that success.
"Wow! Fake News MSNBC has REALLY BAD RATINGS, in fact, not much better than the broken broadcasting disaster known as CNN," Trump posted Tuesday at 11:16 p.m. on Truth Social. "Comcast, which also has the ailing network known as NBC, is trying to stay away from lawsuits by disassociating NBC from MSNBC, but it won’t work. Comcast, the owner of both, and it’s Chairman, Brian Roberts, are a disgrace to the integrity of Broadcasting!!!"

Telecommunications giant Comcast will spin off some of its cable networks as traditional TV audiences dwindle, and MSNBC, E!, CNBC, USA, Oxygen, SYFY and the Golf Channel will become a new, publicly traded company.
Fox News averaged 1.92 million total day viewers in the first quarter of this year, which was up 48 percent, while MSNBC posted 593,000, down 27 percent, and CNN averaged 428,000, down 8 percent.
MSNBC has said that its weekday primetime viewership shot up by 96 percent since Trump's inauguration, and CNN says its primetime viewership increased by 7 percent in March when compared to the previous month.
