Possible thunderstorm across Portland metro Monday
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) —After a few spotty rain showers on Sunday, we're starting off the week with scattered showers across the Portland metro area and a chance of an isolated thunderstorm in the afternoon and evening hours.
From 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, there is a 15-30% chance of a non-severe thunderstorm across Northwest Oregon and Southwest Washington, which could include heavy downpours and pea-sized hail along with lightning.
As for rain totals, PDX could see up to three-tenths of an inch of rain Monday -- perhaps closer to a half-inch in some areas across the Willamette Valley and in the Cascades. This increase in rain chances is certainly a welcome sight across our region.
Throughout the rest of the workweek, the forecast calls for mostly cloudy conditions with plenty of dry time and a slight chance of an isolated shower.
Our daytime highs to start the week will remain a tad cooler than normal, with Portland looking to max out in the low 60s for both Monday and Tuesday afternoon.
