Travis Hunter’s First Purchase After Being Drafted Was a Pair of Jaguars Pajama Pants

Former Colorado Buffaloes two-way star Travis Hunter was the No. 2 pick in the 2025 NFL draft after the Jacksonville Jaguars traded up to select him.

However, while Hunter's draft position means he's set to earn north of $8.4 million this season under the NFL's rookie pay scale, the 21-year-old had little interest in breaking the bank with his first purchase as a pro. It was actually just the opposite, and Hunter immediately got good use out of the cost-effective addition to his wardrobe.

As Mia O'Brien of 1010 XL, the Jaguars' flagship radio station, revealed, Hunter said he bought a pair of team pajama pants on Amazon, which he wore under his graduation gown at Colorado last week.

While it's unknown if Hunter has since made any other unique purchases, it's worth noting that he was likely making a decent amount in NIL money during his time at Colorado.

Regardless, whatever amount the wide receiver/defensive back hybrid was pulling in during his collegiate career is undoubtedly far from the expected $46.5 million he'll earn throughout his four-year rookie deal. According to Spotrac, Hunter will earn somewhere in the ballpark of more than $10.5 million in Year 2, $12.7 million in Year 3 and over $14.8 million during his fourth season as a pro.

Hunter landed with the Jaguars after they sent the No. 5 pick, a second-round pick (No. 36), a fourth-round pick (No. 126), and a 2026 first-round pick to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for the No. 2 pick, a fourth-round pick (No. 104), and a sixth-round pick (No. 200).
