'The Voice' Announces Coaches for Season 28

It's no surprise that The Voice is returning for its 28th season in the fall on NBC and fans finally know who the coaches will be. 

It was announced earlier in the spring that Snoop Dogg would be making a return to red swivel chairs after skipping Season 27, so there were only three spots left to fill. Snoop will have Reba McEntire, Michael Bublé, and Niall Horan joining him, per NBC's May 12 announcement. McEntire was a coach from Seasons 24-26, so she's already a familiar face to the rapper. 

Bublé will return for his third season in a row after beginning his run in Season 26 with Snoop and McEntire. Horan, from One Direction, previously starred in Seasons 23 and 24. The only thing that won't change is host Carson Daly, who has been with the singing competition series since the beginning. 

The Voice is losing an hour in the fall due to NBC's commitment to airing the NBA games. The schedule is a bit confusing, but Deadline broke down the calendar for fans. The series "will launch with two hours on Mondays and Tuesdays in September." Once the NBA games begin, the calendar gets crazy.

"The first Tuesday of the fall season is the finale of America’s Got Talent. Then, there will be three weeks of The Voice on Tuesday nights before the NBA kicks in and then it will only air on Monday nights," the media outlet wrote. "It will start as a two-hour show on Monday nights but reduce down to one hour when NBC decides to premiere its comedies..." 

 Viewers can expect about "six weeks of two hours on Mondays" before the shift to one hour begins. 

NBC also noted that The Voice might pick up a few Tuesday episodes in December depending on the NBA schedule which has yet to be finalized.
