Stacey Solomon’s close friend reveals ‘sacrifices behind the scenes’ as she supports star after Bafta backlash
STACEY Solomon’s close friend has revealed her ‘sacrifices behind the scenes’ as she supports the star after Bafta backlash.
Stacey, 35, admitted her “upset and devastation” that her BBC home makeover show, Sort Your Life Out, didn’t take home a gong.
The presenter didn’t hold back in an emotional video shared to Instagram, in which she confessed to being heartbroken that her team missed out.
The series, which began airing in 2021, had been shortlisted in the Factual Entertainment category but ultimately lost to Rob and Rylan’s Grand Tour.
Although Stacey offered congratulations to Rylan Clark and Rob Rinder, she made it clear how disappointed she felt.
Now, Stacey’s close friend has supported her with a post, that seems them smiling next to each other on the day of the Baftas.
The mum-of-five’s pal, Emma, stands next to Stacey in a black dress in the garden of Pickle Cottage.
And she wrote: “You gave it everything. That’s what matters. No need for a title to prove what I already know — you’re a winner in my eyes.” Love you @staceysolomon love you @sortyourlifeout.
“I saw the effort you put in. I saw the late nights, the early mornings, the quiet sacrifices no one else noticed.
“You carried yourself with strength, determination, and grace. And that means more than any title or trophy ever could.”
Stacey liked the post shared by her friend.
The X Factor alum – who also missed out on a win for Entertainment Performance – vented from her garden on Monday, while dressed down in a green Nike sweatshirt and blue cycling shorts.
She told her followers: “We didn’t win a Bafta. And I know I’m supposed to take it gracefully like a champ but, I’ll be honest, I’m devastated!
“I’m not handling it very well, I’m not taking it very gracefully – I’m devastated! I’m devastated for our whole team, like I’m so gutted for our team.”
The Loose Women star praised the efforts behind the scenes of Sort Your Life Out, describing the programme as tough to make and expressing pride in her colleagues’ dedication.
