A BIKER is fighting for their life after an eight-vehicle crash that shut down a motorway for over seven hours.
West Yorkshire Police said a 51-year-old motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries.
They were rushed to hospital where they remain in a critical condition.
The biker was hurt in a horror crash on the M62, near Huddersfield, at 5.40pm.
It took place just before the exit slip road for junction 23.
Cops are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
An investigation is underway after the M62 was closed for more than seven hours yesterday, with an air ambulance sighted landing nearby.
Some drivers were stuck in traffic for more than six hours before the motorway reopened at 1am.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Enquiries into the collision, which led to the carriageway being closed until around 1am today, are continuing.
“Officers at the Roads Policing Unit are keen to speak with anyone who witnessed it, or anyone who may have footage to assist this investigation.
“The Unit can be contacted on 101, or by using the livechat facility on the West Yorkshire Police website. The reference to quote is 13250302116.”
National Highways Yorkshire said at the time: “The M62 is now closed eastbound between J22 (Denshaw) and J24 (Huddersfield) due to a serious collision.
“An air ambulance is now on scene. There are delays of at least 30 minutes in the area.”
