The Maharashtra government has signed a Letter of Interest with five foreign universities, including Aberdeen University and the University of York, to establish campuses in Navi Mumbai. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that these universities will be located on a 250-acre education hub, providing accessible and affordable education at 25% of the cost abroad, benefiting students who cannot study overseas.
