Woman accused of biting, striking man with wood at Warrensburg 'No Kings' rally

WARRENSBURG, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A New Hampshire woman was arrested on Saturday for alleged assault during a "No Kings" protest in Warrensburg, according to the Warren County Sheriff's Office. Catherine Benincasa, 32, of Manchester, N.H. faces several charges.

The incident reportedly took place on Main Street at about 5:19 p.m., when Benincasagot into an argument with a man expressing support for President Donald Trump. The Sheriff's Office said that the altercation escalated and Benincasaallegedly hit the man in the head with a piece of wooden moulding and bit his arm.

The victim sustained no major injuries, authorities told NEWS10.

The 32-year-old was arrested and charged with third-degree assault, second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, all misdemeanors, authorities said. She was reportedly released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Warrensburg Town Court at a later date.
