GEN-3 Electrical OMRS SportsMods Head to Peterborough Speedway for the Robert Maebrae Memorial Classic
Schedules may be winding down, but fans can still expect to see plenty of exciting action before the curtain falls on another season of local racing.
Teams with the GEN-3 Electrical OMRS SportsMods will sign-in Saturday, August 30th at Peterborough Speedway for the Robert Maebrae Memorial Classic, the group’s penultimate 2025 event. From the drop of the initial green flag, there have been some very close battles during the debut calendar for the current racing incarnation.
John Baker Jr. edged Chad Strawn by mere inches and less than a second during an early season Peterborough Speedway event, while the same duo ran several side-by-side laps without touching during the middle stages of the recent Bill Pickford Memorial. At Flamboro Speedway, youngster Ethan Thompson scored his first career SportsMods main event win.
GEN-3 Electrical OMRS SportsMods standings:
77M Glenn Morris 409
27 Ethan Thompson 394
63 John Baker Jr. 390
90 Rick Warnes 387
35 Chad Strawn 380
77 Brad Stevenson 233
12 Garrett Yake 163
15 Rob Richards 83
The next GEN-3 Electrical OMRS SportsMods event – Saturday, August 30th – will be part of the Championship Clash at Peterborough Speedway. The show will also pay tribute to the memory of Robert Maebare, a racer who left his mark on the local motorsports community and unfortunately passed away in November of 2022. GEN-3 Electrical OMRS officials are looking for a sea of red and encourage everyone to wear something red in memory of Robert and to show their support of the Maebrae family.
Grandstand gates open at 3:00, with the final night of racing for the track’s local divisions starting at 4:00.
GEN-3 Electrical OMRS SportsMods will conclude their 2025 schedule as part of the 32nd annual Autumn Colours Classic Friday, October 10th.
