Finland to pay €1.4bn in tax refunds to 1.5 million people

Finland’s Tax Administration will pay more than €1.4 billion in refunds to approximately 1.5 million taxpayers on Wednesday. This marks the largest single tax refund payout of the year, officials said. The average refund from July to September stands at €734. This is slightly higher than during the same period in 2024, according to figures published by Verohallinto.

Regional differences remain significant. Åland tops the list with the highest average refund at €802, while taxpayers in North Karelia receive the lowest, averaging €659.
