West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee slammed Damodar Valley Corporation. She accused DVC of releasing 65,000 cusecs of water without state notice. This caused a flood-like situation in south Bengal districts. It happened during Bijoya Dashami celebrations. Banerjee called the act reckless and shameful. She warned of strong resistance. District administrations were put on alert. DVC did not immediately respond.
