The Madras High Court ordered a Special Investigation Team. This team will probe the September 27 stampede in Karur. The incident happened during actor-politician Vijay's rally. Forty-one persons died and over sixty were injured. Senior IPS officer Asra Garg will lead the SIT. The court also criticized functionaries of Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam.
