Robert Irwin's 'Dancing With the Stars' Success Has Sparked a 'Surge of Interest' in Hollywood
If you are hopping on TikTok each week after watching Dancing With the Stars on Tuesdays, then you know the buzz is swirling around Robert Irwin.
While fans go “absolutely gaga” over the 21-year-old conservationist, the entertainment industry is also taking notice. So what is the endgame for the current frontrunner for the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy? Well, if Hollywood has their way, it sounds like they have big plans for him.
“Robert is getting so much attention on DWTS, and that’s created this surge of interest in everything to do with the family,” a source told Star Magazine. “Everyone is saying they’d be perfect for a reality show.”

The Irwin family, including big sis Bindi, 27, her husband, Chandler Powell, 28, and their daughter Grace, 4, plus their mom Terri, 61, is telegenic and fun. The entire crew seems open to the Hollywood possibility, too. In August, the Irwins moved to Los Angeles to support Robert’s adventure on Dancing With the Stars — and they are staying the full three months.
“I wanted to share a life update with you. We have officially moved to Los Angeles — not forever [but] for the next three months,” Bindi said in an Aug. 30 Instagram video. “Australia Zoo will always be home, but we are here to support my incredible brother on Dancing With the Stars.”
That three-month timeline was under the bold assumption that Robert would make it to the finale — and of course, he will! Not only is he a likable contestant, but he also has a natural talent for dance. Robert and his partner Witney Carson are going to be hard competitors to beat in Season 34.
The first likely contenders for Robert’s next step in Hollywood would be the Disney/ABC/Hulu family. The network has been leaning heavily into cross-promoting its Hulu reality stars on other platforms. Look no further than the cast members of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives popping up on Dancing With the Stars and the next season of The Bachelorette, and you get the idea.
“The feeling is that they’ll give in to whatever the Irwins want because this family is a potential gold mine,” the Star insider added. So, it sounds like Robert can write his ticket in Hollywood or Australia, and the networks and fame will follow.
