I would agree that he seems very limited with the ball at his feet. His first instinct is to look and play back to the goalie. This would be compounded by playing him on his wrong side.
Having said that I think we looked better as a defensive unit when he was playing. Personally I’d like to see us try a 3-5-2 formation, to get a bit more height in the team, but Davies seems pretty rigid in keeping us at 4-2-3-1.
